Divorce

  • The decision

There are few more important moments in a person’s life than deciding whether to end a relationship. Similarly, there are few more confronting situations than when a partner has made this choice without your knowledge. I work with clients in this early stage of separation to help them make sense of their thoughts and emotions and better manage this difficult situation.

  • The first steps

Once a relationship has ended, a wide range of emotions are commonly felt including grief, anger, depression, anxiety, stress, and uncertainty about the future. I offer a safe place to experience and make sense of these feelings and take the first steps through this stage of divorce.

  • Co-parenting

Where children are involved, outcomes for everyone are improved if supportive and respectful child custody and co-parenting arrangements are in place. Developing strategies, managing frustrations, improving communication with children, and finding positive ways to engage with a co-parent are all supported in the work I do with separated fathers and mothers.

  • Looking forward

Creating a life after divorce can be exciting but intimidating. When working with clients at this stage of divorce, I help them clarify their values, establish independent goals, and create new relationships, leading to reconciliation with the past and a happier future.
